"I'm leaving, I won't wait any longer" Euphrates insisted. Dweezil gave out a low moan and covered his eyes with his paws. This was all too scary for him. For the last two years the Boss would disappear through the door but it was always closed. Now the door was open and his buddy Euphrates was about to go through it. Disgusted, Euphrates turned away. "The biggest cat in the neighborhood and he's scared to go outside and explore" she thought. Euphrates had dreamed of this day often, especially when she'd watch the birds flying outside the window. Now she'd be able to kill all the birds she wanted to! Purring, Euphrates slipped down the back stairs and out into the alley. She knew exactly where she wanted to go, to the park across the street. The old men would stop there and feed the birds. "It'll be a massacre" though Euphrates.
And a massacre it was, Euphrates had a field day. Ten robins, six bluejays, three pigeons and a hummingbird in just two hours. Euphrates was feeling a bit tired after all her exercise. She was also getting a stomach ache. "It must have been the feathers," she thought remembering that she had swallowed the hummingbird whole. "Maybe a little catnap under those trees would be nice," Euphrates thought as she padded over to them.
It was three hours later when Euphrates woke to the gentle nudging at her side. It was Dweezil and boy did he look scared. "When are you coming home, Euphates? I'm getting lonely." "Never!" replied Euphrates "I'm going to stay here and kill birds everyday!" Dweezil gave out a low moan and tried to shrink lower into the grass. "This is all too scary for me, I'm going home," he said and slowly crept away.
By the time Euphrates was done cleaning the blood from her fur, it was getting quite late. "Brrr, I hope it doesn't get any colder tonight." Just then she heard a bark and looked up to see a German shepard ten feet away charging at her. Euphrates was frozen with fear as she faced the savage teeth that were about to rip into her body.
Plop, out of the tree above them came Dweezil, who landed on the German shepard's head. Dweezil had hidden himself in the tree while Euphrates was cleaning herself, he had to talk her into coming back home, he had to. Now he was in the thick of it, riding on the head of a German shepard. Dweezil had never been in a situation like this before and wasn't really sure on what to do. He decided to rake the eyeballs of the German shepard with his claws. Howling in pain the German shepard ran toward the street trying to shake Dweezil off. Luckily Dweezil jumped off at the sidewalk, because when the German shepard hit the street the action really started.
A little old lady swerved to miss the German shepard and drove head on into a full schoolbus which flipped over sideways and was creamed by three cars and two trucks. Down the block a gasoline tanker truck's accelerator jammed at the same time the brakes failed sending 50,000 gallons of high octane unleaded hurling towards the scene. As the tanker exploded Dweezil said "this is too scary for me, I'm going home!" "I agree" replied Euphrates as they headed home.
They were just curling up on the couch when the Boss came home.
